KUWAIT: After thecase of a customs officer who accepted bribes to allow in an Iraqi driver with180 kg of hashish, shabu and 100,000 illicit tablets, state security arrestedanother Iraqi man for smuggling drugs through the same officer. State securitymen at Abdaly office learned about another Iraqi who entered with a largequantity of drugs and was arrested in Jahra. He confessed to entering withoutbeing searched with the help of the corrupt customs officer, who let him inafter an agreement with the drug lord who sent it from Iraq. The driver saidhis job was only to deliver the drugs. He was taken to the Drugs ControlGeneral Department and will be deported. Authorities are looking for the drugsto prevent it from reaching users.

Brother-in-lawaccused of theft

A citizen accusedher brother-in-law of stealing personal items from her apartment after takingthe key from her husband. The citizen told police her husband gave the key tohis brother to let in a maintenance man. He later returned the key, and whenthey went back home, she discovered the theft. When she called herbrother-in-law, he denied stealing anything and hung up. She then lodged acomplaint, and when police attempted to call him, his phone was switched off,so the case was handed to concerned authorities to arrest him.
