Saudi facing ‘long’ war after talks fail - No end to the conflict in sight

KUWAIT: Kuwait Special Olympics launched the young players’ program with the participation of 75 players from eight educational institutions. The program is a sports one to train and educate sports skills for the mentally challenged children and normal ones aged 2 to 7 years to enable them to participate in the Special Olympics events when they reach the age of 8 years.

The program is supervised by sports in charge Mustafa Hassouna and the initiatives official Linda Jaber who said the importance of the program is to guide children at this early age to practice sport due to its positive returns in regards to physical and psychological health.

She said the program enables children to learn basic sport skills such as running, kicking, and throwing. It also supports the development of important motor, social and educational skills and gives them physical fitness and how to play with others and gives families, teachers and care providers an opportunity to join children’s fun.

She said the program is important for children’s sports raising and expanding the base of sports practitioners in addition to creating the opportunity to discover talents in all games to supply teams with promising players to continue making achievements by the mentally challenged individuals. Linda Jaber thanked the schools and establishments for participating in the program.
