KUWAIT: The State Audit Bureau has released its annual assessment report for 2023, covering a wide range of financial, environmental and social issues. The bureau stated that its strategy focuses on sustainability and its understanding of material topics, allowing it to assess risks and opportunities. "The crisis and opportunities department supports global direction with regard to interior and exterior opinions, ranging from the academic field to the political field,” it said.
The bureau aims to combat corruption, develop human abilities, reduce unnecessary financial spending and ensure environmentally friendly institutions. The year culminated in 30 publications covering 170 institutions, 1,335 employees, 41 workshops, 17 professional certifications, 28 international advisory benefits, 35 events and participations outside the bureau and 89 events within the bureau.
The bureau’s report stresses that one of its objectives is to reduce negative environmental practices, particularly regarding water safety and urban air pollution. This aligns with the bureau’s sustainability objectives, which are directly related to health and the increasing demand for energy.
The bureau is keen on becoming an environmentally friendly institution by developing its automatic systems while meeting the needs of its organizational units, aiming to transform into a paperless environment. It has also developed its annual assessment procedures in the EPES system by upgrading its facilities for supervisors and allowing employees to complete certain responsibilities online.
Moreover, technical support and the report archive have been upgraded to allow for wider electronic access, reducing paper documents as much as possible. The bureau also facilitates ease of company interactions by aiming to transfer all transactions from paper to electronic documents.
Socially, the bureau pays great attention to developing education and human resources, aiming to develop new skills up to international standards. It also supports upgrading health facilities to the highest standards by ensuring quality health services and professional safety. Throughout 2023, the bureau organized six workshops to raise awareness among high school and higher education students and participated in three career exhibitions.
