Amir meets top Danish lawmaker, senior state officials

KUWAIT: Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani is due to visit Kuwait today, and is scheduled to hold official talks with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace yesterday. His Highness the Amir then met the visiting Danish Parliament Speaker Pia Kjaersgaard and her accompanying delegation, in presence of His Highness the Crown Prince and National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem. The meeting was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah.

Afterwards, His Highness the Amir received His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad then met President of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Cassation Court, and President of the Constitutional Court, Justice Yousef Al-Mutawaa. Finally, His Highness the Amir received First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

In the meantime, His Highness Crown Prince received Ghanem, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak, Mutawaa and Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad. His Highness the Crown Prince also met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. His Highness the Crown Prince then met Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh.

Also yesterday, His Highness the Prime Minister met with the visiting speaker of the Danish Parliament and her accompanying delegation. The head of the accompanying mission of honor MP Safaa Al-Hashem, Undersecretary at His Highness the Prime Minister's Diwan Sheikha Etemad Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Kuwait's Ambassador to Sweden and non-resident Ambassador to Denmark Nabil Al-Dekheel attended the reception. Speaker of the Folketing (Danish Parliament) Pia Kjaersgaard had arrived to Kuwait on Saturday, leading a parliamentary delegation on a five-day official visit. They were welcomed at the airport by head of the foreign affairs committee of the National Assembly MP Dr Abdulkarim Al-Kandari, Ambassador Dekheel and the Danish Ambassador to Kuwait. - KUNA
