KUWAIT: Following initial investigations, the public prosecutor decided to detain six suspects charged with fingerprint forgery for 10 days pending further investigations. The public prosecutor also referred the suspects to the central prison and asked forensic experts to examine the plastic fingerprints they had been using and to report accordingly.
Informed sources said that the public prosecution would summon about 350 Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) employees who had benefited from the fake fingerprints and allegedly had the suspects sign in and out on their behalf. Moreover, the sources said that the prosecution was now examining CCTV cameras showing the suspects signing in and out on behalf of others. "Both the suspects and the beneficiaries will be legally held accountable and the sums they unlawfully received will be recovered," explained the sources. - Al-Jarida
