Public hospitals to gradually become exclusive for Kuwaiti citizens

KUWAIT: The Kuwait Lawyers Association, in cooperation with the French Embassy in Kuwait, held a conference on “Artificial Intelligence between Law and Technology: The Role of Lawyers in Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection.” The two-day event (October 7-8, 2024) was held at the Society’s Theater. On the first day, a lecture about European law was given by Brunessen Bertrand, professor of law at the University of Rennes and expert on AI and EU governance. New laws in the EU were discussed, as well as the possibility of its application in Kuwait, including AI governance and its basis in the EU and Kuwait.

On the second day, they discussed the impact of AI on services, especially with regards to employment. The message is to leverage state employment, promotion techniques, artificial intelligence, and crafts to enhance the efficiency and performance of agencies and organizations in a way that achieves the highest levels of precision in operations and procedures. The vision is to be a leading and distinguished reference in the application of artificial intelligence technologies across various fields and to be the primary source of support and guidance for government and private entities in the country.

The principle is to focus on sustainable innovation with a commitment to develop AI solutions and technologies that support continuous improvement and operational efficiency in line with development goals. The objectives of the initiative include developing an AI Innovation Center — a specialized center that serves as a hub for innovative ideas and projects, working to support government and private entities in adopting smart solutions.

The association aims to adopt high standards, transparency, and ethical practices in the development and use of AI technologies while ensuring full compliance with national and international legislation, including data protection, privacy, and human rights. It prepares advanced training by providing high-level educational programs designed to meet the needs of government and private entities.

Interactive platform

The idea is to develop an advanced electronic platform that provides resources and tools based on artificial intelligence technologies and to improve operations and procedures in various sectors. The innovation also focuses on building strategic partnerships with local and international academic and technological institutions and enhancing integration and exchange of expertise in developing AI solutions.

Their focus is to achieve results in order to ensure that all AI initiatives and solutions are geared towards achieving tangible and impactful results that contribute to improving overall performance and developing services. The association focuses on spreading awareness and education programs through seminars, conferences, and workshops targeting government and private entities.
