KUWAIT: Detectives are working towards establishing the identity of a woman who used to con people and steal their properties using improvised methods. The first victim reportedly put his "Casco bird" up for sale on an online application. In response, a woman called him and asked him to place the bird in front of a house in Taima and go to Naeem area to collect the price. The man did as told and went to Naeem to get his money. But no one was there and when he went back to the house, the bird had disappeared. He lodged a complaint with police. Another man told police that a woman agreed to buy his costly watch. She reportedly told him to go to Taima and hand over the watch to her son. Then he must go to a co-op to meet her and collect the money. But on reaching the spot, he could not be found.

False prison alerts

A Central Prison inmate caused prison authorities to go on alert as he told them that two prisoners had escaped only to discover that it was a false alarm. Policemen accounted for all prisoners and no one was missing. Then they searched prison cells and found drugs, banned materials and smartphones there.

Couple questioned

A couple is being interrogated as they brought a dead infant to Jahra Hospital. The baby was reportedly only six-month-old. A security source said that the couple took the baby for a medical check-up but doctors found him dead. The body was sent to the coroner to find out the cause of death.

Maids accused

A Gulf diplomat accused two of her Filipina maids of stealing her clothes and highly expensive purses. She told Zahraa police that the two had disappeared while she was away. Detectives are investigating.

Maid assaulted

Two thieves entered a house in Fahad Al-Ahmad area, beat up the housemaid and escaped with gas cylinders. The crime took place in the absence of the house owner. The citizen upon his return, found his maid in a very bad shape. She told him that two men broke into the house and beat her up. They ransacked the entire house and when they did not find anything valuable, they took the gas cylinders and her phone. The citizen lodged a complaint with Fahad Al-Ahmad police station.

Robbers steal KD5,800

Robbers broke into a citizen's car and stole KD5,800. The car was parked in a hospital parking lot. The lady had kept her money in an envelope under the driver's seat and was about to deposit it in a bank. She lodged a complaint at Fintas police station. -Al-Rai
