KUWAIT: The Ministry of Education announced that Minister Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei has taken firm and strict measures after discovering serious violations related to the management of exams in a printing press. The ministry added in a statement that Minister Al-Tabtabaei decided to cancel the decision of the members of the Central Secret Printing Press in full and take legal and administrative measures against violators to ensure.

It explained that the minister also decided to assign new members to the Central Printing Press and choose them carefully and precisely according to strict conditions while adhering to the examination regulations and printing models for exams for the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth secondary grades with full commitment to the specified technical standards. The decisions also include restructuring the members of the printing press in 3 educational regions and taking legal and administrative measures against violators.

The ministry stated that the decisions included strengthening supervision over examination committees in all grades and issuing strict instructions to prevent any supervisor or committee head who has first-degree relatives from joining the students taking the exams and documenting this in accordance with the exam guide, in addition to directing the sectors concerned with examinations to complete the tasks assigned to them quickly and accurately.

The ministry stated in its statement that after a comprehensive and accurate review conducted by the minister, it was found that there are first-degree relatives of seven members of the central printing press responsible for printing secondary school exams. This represents a clear violation of the principles of justice and standards of integrity and neutrality stipulated in the work guide.

It added that it was also found that there were first-degree relatives for other members in printing presses affiliated with the educational districts — supervising the printing of intermediate school exams, which represents a violation of the regulations governing work in this regard. These procedures come within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness on the integrity of the educational process and ensuring the achievement of the principle of justice and equal opportunities among all learners.

The ministry stressed that there will be no tolerance for any violations, as all legal and administrative measures will be taken against violators to ensure justice is achieved and anyone proven to be involved in these violations will be held accountable. It stressed the minister’s keenness to continuously review the names of the members of the committee to ensure that exams proceed with full discipline, especially with regard to the correction, grades, and monitoring processes, noting his commitment to rebuilding confidence in the educational system. — KUNA
