KUWAIT: The Ministry of Information and the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs have organized the second Shabab (youth) summer camp aimed at filling the past-times of local youngsters. The second camp consisted of various sports, cultural, and social activities for young boys and girls. The camp aimed at developing the talents of youth, occupying their time during the summer break.

Under the auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the Public Authority for Youth (PAY) launched its five-year strategy for youth action on the eve of the World Youth Day. Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah represented His Highness the Amir at a celebration held on this occasion.

He said that youth are the true treasure of the country and the focus of interest for all state departments. Sheikh Salman congratulated the youth on the opening of a new era of action under the umbrella of the PAY which spares no effort in giving free rein to the youth in all domains. He reaffirmed commitment of his ministry to putting into play the potentials of creative youth, saying that youth are partners in development and represent more than two thirds of the country's population.

He appreciated the efforts made in drawing the plans for youth action, including the national youth document known as "Kuwait hears. He also lauded the achievement made by Kuwaiti shooter Feheid Al-Dihani who won the gold medal of the double trap competitions at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games yesterday. On his part, PAY Director General Abdul-Rahman Al-Mutairi extolled His Highness the Amir for his care for the youth. He said the strategy is a comprehensive one meant to create a conducive environment for building the capacity of the youth and strengthening the national unity. - Agencies
