Expats can verify their data before the issuance of civil IDs
KUWAIT: Director General of the Public Authority for Civil Information Musaed Al-Assousi said expats will be able to check and correct their names in Latin online starting today (Sunday), before the issuance of the civil ID. He said the launch of this service was at the instructions of Deputy Premier, Interior Minister and Chairman of the Board of PACI Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah. He added this move is to ease matters for patrons and expand the use of computerization, which will reduce personal visits to PACI and interior ministry.
Assousi said the service enables an expat to visit PACI's site and make sure their data is correct, or apply for correction in case of any mistake in the Latin name. He added PACI employees are authorized to correct or update the Latin names of expats in case of a mistake in order to speed up services and ease problems faced by residents.
Assousi said he met last week with the directors of the residency affairs and IT departments of the interior ministry to discuss technical matters related to the cancellation of the residency sticker for expats. He said electronic passport readers will be installed at residency centers, which will eradicate errors in Latin names. Assousi affirmed PACI is keen on accuracy in recording data. - KUNA
