KUWAIT: Al-Ojeiri Scientific Center said that the month of January will witness two astronomical phenomena, the first, will be the meteor showers on Wednesday and the second is the solar perihelion (on Thursday). The center pointed out that this phenomenon in which the earth is at the closest point to the sun, will make the disk of the sun appear slightly larger than usual and brighter.

The center added that the quad meteors will reach its peak on Thursday night. He explained that the quaternary meteors will produce about 120 meteors per hour and can be seen with the naked eye in the open and dark places during the night hours. He pointed out that, on Thursday, Kuwait will be on a date with another astronomical phenomenon known as perihelion, which coincides with the beginning of each new calendar year.
