KUWAIT: The dean of admissions and registration at Kuwait University Dr Abdullah Al-Hajri told Kuwait Times that no new foreign students will be accepted until the second registration period of next year during a press conference in Shuwaikh on Tuesday. "We are currently holding off admitting foreign students to the university as spots are reserved for Kuwaiti students as a priority for the upcoming registration period," he said.
"Admissions will be restricted to Kuwaitis until next year, as admission of foreign students will be open during the second registration and admissions window for the 2023/24 academic year in the winter of 2024," Dr-Hajri told Kuwait Times. Regarding requirements for admission of expatriates to the university, he said: "Foreign students are required to have a minimum of 90 percent in their high school grade certificate, on top of an admission test on registration."
As for Kuwaiti students, minimum grades for the science stream for high school graduates are 70 percent and 78 percent for high school graduates for the arts stream. "Kuwaiti students can register for the second term of the 2022/23 academic year starting Saturday, December 31 until January 10 online or at the admissions headquarters," he said during the press conference.
Dr Hajri concluded his statement by inviting applicants to view the instructions and guidelines provided by the university on its official website, stressing the need to strictly adhere to the deadlines set for submitting applications for enrollment and approval of admission, as no application will be accepted after the end of the declared period, wishing success to all students.
