KUWAIT: Kuwait Municipality's official spokesperson Nadia Al-Shereida denied social media and media reports about halting camping licenses for non-Kuwaitis and stressed that licenses were still being issued to both Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis. "The municipality only followed some strict measures to prevent leasing camps to others. Some non-Kuwaitis had been using several IDs to get licenses to pitch camps and then rent them to others," she explained, noting that the new regulations will prevent such leasing, especially since municipality inspectors are always present in various camping areas. "If licensed beneficiaries rent out camps for others or use them in violation of the regulations, the camps will be immediately removed and legal action will be taken against them," she underlined.
State budget
Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) is considering funding the state budget with one billion dinars to be given in two phases - half a billion in the current fiscal year and half in the coming one (2016-2017), well-informed oil sources said. The social security authority is also expected to study its contribution in supporting the state budget by issuing special bonds. Notably, the finance ministry has recently resorted to using state reserves.
New HQ
Kuwait Fire Services Directorate (KFSD) said that its current headquarters in Sharq would be used as the Capital prevention center once it moves to its new headquarters in Mishref next year. The old building will also include a museum showing the history of firefighting in Kuwait.
