KUWAIT: Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision reported near Adan yesterday. Qurain Fire Station men arrived to the scene in response to an emergency call, and helped free the motorists from their wrecked vehicles. The two were handed over to paramedics who rushed them to the nearest medical facility.

Municipality campaign

Jahra Municipality's emergency team carried out a campaign to remove animal pens built illegally on state property in Erhaiya. The campaign comes after the municipality received a complaint from the Ministry of Public Works. Ten pens were removed during the campaign.

No injuries in fires

A fire broke out in trees in Qusoor, so Qurain fire center responded. Firemen isolated the fire and kept it from spreading, then put the flames out. No injuries were reported. Meanwhile, a fire broke out at a chalet in Zoor. Firefighters successfully tackled the flames after making sure nobody was inside the chalets. No injuries were reported. Also yesterday, a fire broke out in a Sulaibkhat house, prompting Sulaibkhat fire center to respond. The house was evacuated, and the flames were extinguished after firefighters disconnected power. No injuries were reported. Separately, Mangaf firemen responded to a call about a malfunctioning elevator in Fintas area. The elevator was lowered to the ground floor and a number of people who were trapped inside were freed.

Workers trapped

A heavy duty truck collided with a bridge opposite Sabah Al-Nasser area, and several workers were trapped inside Firemen dealt with the accident and freed them.

Parliament's storming case

The Appeals Court yesterday adjourned the National Assembly's storming case in which 74 citizens including 11 former MPs face charges, and set the next hearing for May 1. Former MP Musallam Al-Barrak attended the court session, and was seen in the defendant's cage as he stood as one of the suspects. Meanwhile, the court freed a ruling family member who is being tried on a drugs case, only for him to be arrested on other charges.

'Flying' pebbles

Municipal Council Member and Chairmen of Hawally Committee Yousuf Al-Ghareen submitted a question on the 'flying' asphalt pebbles, saying that almost everyone in Kuwait complained about damage in his or her car because of this problem. He said there are road maintenance companies who did not comply with the rules when the affected roads were paved, while there were lives lost because of this behavior by companies and concerned authority.
