KUWAIT: The General Administration of Civil Aviation reported on Wednesday that the total number of passengers traveling to and from Kuwait International Airport in October reached 1,013,505. Acting Director General Imad Al-Jalawi told KUNA that in October, Kuwait International Airport experienced an 11 percent increase in passenger traffic and a 27 percent rise in aircraft movement, while air cargo traffic also saw a 10 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year.

Jalawi further revealed that the incoming passenger count for October was 447,013, while departing passengers numbered 566,492. The total number of transit passengers stood at 186,359, marking a 38 percent increase compared to October of the previous year.

Regarding aircraft movements, there were a total of 11,169 flights to and from Kuwait International Airport in October, a notable increase compared to the 8,807 flights during the same period the previous year. As for air freight, Jalawi reported that the total volume of freight movement in October was approximately 19.4 million kg, with incoming freight totaling around 15.2 million kg and outgoing freight amounting to about 4.1 million kg.

Jalawi also noted that the most popular destinations during this period included Dubai, Cairo, Jeddah, Istanbul and Doha. — KUNA
