KUWAIT: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said 1,052 licenses were issued for microenterprises, one person companies and mobile specialty vehicles during August 2019. These include licenses for seven microenterprises, 32 for mobile specialty vehicles and 1,013 for one person companies, it said in a press statement. Meanwhile, the ministry said that it approved 26 applications for the establishment of companies, while it rejected 45, adding that 17 are being established and nine are already established. Regarding mobile specialty vehicles, the ministry said that 331 applications for establishment were registered during August, of which 235 were approved and 84 rejected. The ministry further explained that it received 3,164 applications to establish one person companies, 2,048 were approved while 1,103 were rejected.
Council panel meets
Hawally Governorate Committee at the Municipal Council is set to discuss today a proposal submitted by Deputy Council Chairman Abdullah Al-Mahri to lay speed bumps near Kuwait University and the Australian College in Mubarak Al-Abdullah area (Block 5, Street 5), and a proposal by councilmember Abdullah Al-Roumi to create a tunnel under Messilah Bridge that links Taawon Street with the Sixth Ring Road in both directions. On the committee's schedule also includes discussing a request by the US Embassy to use the buffer area surrounding the embassy's building; an area of 47,668 square meters. Furthermore, the panel is scheduled to discuss a Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) request to allow it to build research and educational buildings within the gardens park location on the sea front in Shaab. It will also discuss an Awqaf Ministry request to expand Shaaban Mosque which covers an area of 792 square meters in Salmiya.
