KUWAIT: Rima Khalidi, spouse of the Palestinian ambassador and Vice President of the International Diplomatic Club Kuwait (IDCK), organized a screening of the Palestinian documentary "Resistance Climbing” on Sunday, May 12, 2024 in Contemporary Art Platform Theater (CAP). The documentary talks about a Palestinian climbing team that defies all the difficulties imposed by the Zionist occupation on the Palestinians in order to obtain a space for normal life.

The film screening was attended by Lana Al-Ayyar, wife of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairwoman of the IDCK; Ghada Shawky, spouse of Egypt ambassador and President of the executive board of the IDCK; and a large number of wives of ambassadors accredited to Kuwait and women of Kuwaiti society. Al Khalidi welcomed Al Ayyar and the attendees and gave a briefing on the nature of the film, which reflects the Palestinian people’s love for life and the necessity of living a normal life like all other people.

Ghada Shawky gave a speech in which she thanked the wife of the Palestinian ambassador for this initiative, and that such films are extremely important as a soft cultural and artistic power in order to convey the message of the Palestinian people and Palestine, which is now the true symbol of the steadfastness, resilience and strength. After the screening of the documentary, Ameera Nijim, one of the founders of the Palestine Climbing Association, based in Ramallah, proceeded to answer the audience’s questions.
