KUWAIT: Kuwait Tennis National Team player Abdallah Maqdis reached the quarter finals of the singles in the Futures Professionals International Championship 2016 being held under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Abdallah Al- Sabah at the Kuwait Tennis Federations Courts at Yarmouk Club.
The tournament will continue until November 20 under the supervision of the International Tennis Federation, with a large number of tennis international professionals participating. Maqdis defeated Italy’s Michael Longo 6-4, 6-1, and in his earlier match he defeated Swiss Arya Maratchi 6-2, 7-6 Maqdis will meet Britain’s Markos Willis, who is seeded fourth in the tournament.
President of Kuwait and Arab Tennis Federations Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber congratulated Maqdis on his win and the level he displayed in the tournament. He also thanked Yarmouk Sport Club for its contribution to the success of the tournament. This is the third tournament among three tournaments in three weeks that make up the Kuwait futures tournament this year, being held under total sponsorship by the Public Authority for Sports.
