KUWAIT: The Youth Public Authority said that the Youth Creativity League program organized by the authority for the fifth season aimed to support talented and creative Kuwaiti youth and develop them to reach the path of success and excellence.

Acting Director General of the Authority for the Youth Development sector, Dr Meshal Al-Janoubi, said in a press statement Monday on the occasion of the start of the activities of the program, that the areas included in this season are the Holy Quran recitation, robotics, the publication of scientific journal, scientific research, mathematics, and drawing, in addition to youth debates.

Al-Janoubi said that the preliminary qualifiers are in the field of mathematics. Training workshops for the field of debates have already begun, and competitions for the rest of the fields will continue to be held in succession at youth centers. He praised the distinguished participation of Kuwaiti youth in the project over the past years. He noted that there was huge demand from young people to register in the league this season in various fields as they were divided into three levels: beginner (from 7 - 10 years), intermediate (11-14 years) and advanced (15-18 years).

Competitions are held among them in an attractive, competitive educational environment. He added that the project is one of the national programs within the country’s development plan and focuses clearly on encouraging creativity and technological innovation for young people based on scientific foundations. He said cooperation between the authority and a number of state agencies, particularly the ministry of education contributed to the success of the activities.

Al-Janoubi said that the Creativity League turned out to be a great success, as evidenced by the Kuwaiti school debating team winning first place, based on its outputs in the Sixth International School Debate Championship in the Arabic language, which was held in Qatar last September.
