KUWAIT: Firemen search for a person who went missing off Sabah Al-Ahmad Sea City's coast. The victim's body was later located and handed over to medical emergency teams.

KUWAIT: A man drowned while swimming off Sabah Al-Ahmad Sea City's coast, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate confirmed. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report about a 37-year-old Kuwaiti man who went missing after going for a swim. Firemen were able to find the victim's body after sweeping the area, and handed it over to medical emergency teams.

In this regard, KFSD's public relations and media department released a statement urging the public to take all precautionary measures at beaches, and advised those who cannot swim well to wear life vests. Several drowning cases were reported in Kuwait after beaches were reopened following the lifting of the total curfew on May 31.



In other news, firemen put out a blaze that engulfed a trailer truck loaded with sponge and garments while it was parked in an open yard in Farwaniya. The fire was contained without reporting any casualties, KFSD said in a press statement. Meanwhile, firefighters battled a blaze that broke out in a sixth-floor apartment in Farwaniya. Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Sabhan fire teams rushed to the scene and immediately evacuated the 10-storey building before putting out the flames. No injuries were reported. Case were filed and further investigations are in progress to determine the cause of the fires.

Separately, two trucks collided along Jassem Al-Kharafi Road (Sixth Ring Road) opposite Sabah Al-Nasser, KFSD said, noting that one of the trucks caught fire and two people were trapped inside until fire teams managed to rescue them and contain the flames.
