KUWAIT: Acting Director of Drugs Control General Department Colonel Waleed Al-Duraiee said the department received information about an Egyptian man who had drugs. When the information was confirmed, an undercover agent was asked to make an agreement with the suspect to buy 10,000 tablets for KD 8,000. The suspect was arrested inside his car with the pills. He confessed to the charges and told officers the rest of quantity was in a desert area, where they found 240,000 Captagon tablets. He was sent to concerned authorities.

Couple arrested

Criminal detectives sent a Saudi man and a Kuwaiti girl to the prosecution with charges related to drunkenness and running an apartment for immoral activities. The two were arrested after video footage circulated on social media, showing a man chasing a girl and snatching her purse. A security source said the event took place on Baghdad Street in Salmiya, and police found the two were together in an apartment, and the man was the one who attacked and beat the girl and stole her purse. The two were drunk on the day of the incident. The man did not like a photo the girl had taken and refused to delete it from her phone, so he got angry. The girl escaped from the apartment, so the man chased her and took her purse. She then returned with him to the apartment.

No injuries in fires

Firefighters responded to an emergency call made at 2:30 am yesterday morning reporting that a vehicle caught flames at the parking lot of Al-Qairawan police station. The blaze was tackled and no injuries were reported. An investigation was opened to determine the cause of the fire. Separately, a fire broke out in a Gharnata house, prompting response of firefighters form the Sulaibkhat fire station. The blaze was tackled and no injuries were reported. An investigation was opened to reveal the circumstances which led to the fire.
