BELGRADE:National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem said on Monday that the Israelioccupation continues its crimes because of the international community'ssilence towards these violations. Ghanem made the statement before the 141stAssembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Serbia's capital Belgrade.
The international silence increases despair and kills hope of the region'snations mainly the Palestinian people, he said. This might lead to an explosionof the situation and no one is immunized against its repercussions and effects,he noted.
Meanwhile, Ghanem discussed with the President of the National Assembly ofSerbia Maja Gojkovic yesterday means of enhancing and developing bilateral tiesbetween both nations in various fields, especially the parliamentary one.
Both sides tackled issues of common interest, as well as talking over items onthe IPU assembly's agenda. Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti parliamentary caucusMP Rakan Al-Nisf, members of the caucus MPs Ali Al-Degbasi and Safaa Al-Hashim,and Kuwait's Ambassador to Serbia Yousef Abdulsamad attended the meeting. –KUNA
