TOKYO: Kuwaiti men skeet shooters Abdullah Al-Rashidi and Mansour Al-Rashidi finished yesterday the first round of Tokyo 2020 Olympics skeet qualifiers held at the Asaka Olympic fields. Abdullah Al-Rashidi scored 74 dishes out of 75, while Mansour Al-Rashidi 71, as second round to be completed today, with two rounds to determine the six shooters who qualify for the finals. Abdullah Al-Rashidi made a strong start in the first three rounds, in which he was able to get the sixth place, equal with four other shooters, and one plate ahead of the first place winners.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti rower Abdulrahman Al-Fadhel took fourth place in the third round to improve positions in the rowing competition of men individuals, recording 8.56.83 minutes, to have his last race on July 29. Fadhel lost chance to qualify for quarterfinals in the last second round, after he came fourth, recording 9.04.73 minutes in the race held at Tokyo Bay "Sea Forest Waterway".
On the other hand, Kuwaiti national athletics team delegation are expected to arrive in Tokyo to participate in the 32nd Olympic Games. The delegation includes national coach Bader Abbas, player Yaqoub Al-Youha and player Madhawi Al-Shammari. The athletics competition for Madhawi Al-Shammari will start on the 30th of this month in the 100m race, while the athlete Yaqoub Al-Youha will participate on the 3rd August in the 110m hurdles. - KUNA
