Kuwait: Kuwait's candidate Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah has been re-elected as president of the International Bowling Federation (IBF) for a third term of four years.
Sheikh Talal Al-Sabah was re-elected during a meeting of the IBF's congress, held in Kuwait on Friday.
Sheikh Talal won the balloting garnering 87 votes vis a vis 17 ones won by his Canadian contender, Cathy Anis.
In remarks to journalists after the election, he pledged to exert greater efforts to press ahead with the march since he first assumed the post years back.
The IBF will continue to promote the game to the largest number possible of countries including African states, he said, adding that the international tournament that kicked off in Kuwait two days ago was distinguished with high performance by the competing champions.
The federation congress elected a Cost Rican as the first deputy and a Cypriot as the second deputy, in addition to 12 board members representing all continents.
