KUWAIT: Kuwaiti powerboat racer Youssef Al-Rubayan came fourth in the time race, but finished third in the overall standing at the end of the fourth round of the F1 Powerboat World Championship in China's Liuzhou City between October 1-2.
Speaking to KUNA by phone, Al-Rubayan said he was so happy to make this big achievement during the event which attracted world powerboat racers representing 10 teams from 12 countries.
Thanking those who encouraged and supported him during the championship, he confirmed that he was gearing up for the fifth round of the event due in China mid-October.
He hoped that he would make a fresh victory and raise the flag of Kuwait during the fifth round of this international championship.
Teams from France, the UAE and Finland came first, second and third respectively. The F1 Powerboat World Championship is an international motorboat racing competition for powerboats organized by the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM).
The championship will resume in Abu Dhabi in December, while the seventh and final round will take place in UAE's Sharjah on December 18.-KUNA
