KUWAIT: Foreign Minister and Acting Minister of Information Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah received yesterday Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr Nayef Al-Hajraf. The two officials discussed during the meeting issues pertaining to the GCC in the upcoming period and also touched on recent regional and international developments. Senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Dr Ahmad received Mohamed Noureddine Le Mondotot who presented a copy of his credentials as the new Ambassador of the Philippines to Kuwait. Sheikh Dr Ahmad wished the new ambassador success in his tenure and for relations between both sides to further progress and prosper, a foreign ministry statement said.
Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocols Dhari Al-Ajran, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Minister's Office Saleh Al-Loughani and a number of senior foreign ministry officials attended the meeting. Sheikh Dr Ahmad also received yesterday the credentials of the newly appointed Maltese Ambassador to Kuwait Raymond Sarsero. Sheikh Dr Ahmad welcomed the Maltese diplomat and wished him success in his current tenure. Senior officials from the Foreign Ministry attended the meeting.
On Monday, Sheikh Dr Ahmad held virtual talks with Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev on bilateral cooperation to fighting the coronavirus pandemic. The two senior diplomats also discussed ways of further promoting bilateral relations and cooperation, and regional and international issues of mutual interest, the foreign ministry said in a statement. - KUNA
