KUWAIT: Kuwait registered 962 COVID-19 cases over a 24-hour span, increasing the total number of infections to 170,998, while two fatalities were recorded to raise the death toll to 966, the Ministry of Health (MoH) announced yesterday. Meanwhile, the ministry confirmed 445 fresh recovery cases, added to a total of 161,538 recovered patients thus far.
Active cases amounted to 8,494 as of yesterday, with 83 of them in intensive care units, MoH's Spokesman Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad said. Health authorities conducted 9,409 swab tests, which brings the total to 1,599,441. "This means that 10.2 percent of the swab tests performed in 24 hours were for infections," Dr Sanad said. He further urged the public to adhere to precautionary measures against the virus and maintain social distancing. - KUNA
