Kuwait: Aviation via Kuwait International Airport is proceeding regularly despite weather turbulence and the foggy wave hanging in the skies over Kuwait, the Director General of Civil Aviation said on Sunday.
Imad Al-Jalawi, the deputy director general, told KUNA that the aircraft movement has not been affected with the current weather conditions, however the emergency plan has been activated amid this situation.
The weather is forecast to remain largely foggy and moist until Monday's early hours.
Earlier, the maritime navigation two and from Al-Shuwaikh and Al-Shuaiba ports were temporarily halted on Sunday due to unstable weather, Kuwait Ports Authority declared in a statement.
The movement of vessels were stopped as of 8 a.m. after visibility dropped, it said, noting that the measure was necessary for safety of the personnel and the facilities at the harbors.
Kuwait since yesterday has been engulfed with foggy and wet weather, rendering visibility quite low.
