KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah discussed Kuwait’s close and distinguished bilateral relations with the United States during a phone conversation with US President Joe Biden on Wednesday. The US president commended these historic ties, and the two countries’ keenness to boost them, underlining his country’s unwavering support for the security and stability of Kuwait, according to a statement by the Amiri Diwan. He also expressed his country’s gratitude for Kuwait’s “humanitarian role” in facilitating the safe transit of people from Afghanistan, and thus the success of US evacuation plans. Biden also wished His Highness the Amir good health, and Kuwait growth and prosperity under His Highness the Amir’s wise leadership.
Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir was grateful for the warm sentiments expressed by the president, emphasizing the strength of the bond between the two nations, “whom throughout history have proven to be friends and allies.” He also congratulated the president on the success on what he described as the “largest-ever evacuation,” and said he appreciates the continued communication between both countries, which reflects their close relationship.
