KUWAIT: Kuwaitis remember with grief the terrorist suicidal attack against Imam Al-Sadeq Mosque in Kuwait City, but also remember how national unity prevailed. A suicide bomber identified as Fahad Al-Qabba, on the 9th day of Ramadan, corresponding June 26, 2015, detonated explosives he was wearing among Muslim worshippers performing Friday prayers at Imam Al-Sadeq Mosque. The deadly attack, which killed 26 people and injured 227 others, brought Kuwaitis together against this terrorist bombing and showed that people of Kuwaiti were united against any attempt targeting their unity.
Kuwaitis will also remember how His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah rushed to the scene of the attack despite security concerns, and stating that those who passed away were his sons. In yet another sign of solidarity, thousands of Kuwaitis and expatriates bid farewell for the deceased while being laid at their final place. A mourning was held at the state Grand Mosque and attended by His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and senior state officials. His Highness the Amir honored families of the deceased, considering them martyrs. His Highness the Amir also ordered the Amiri Diwan to renovate Imam Al-Sadeq Mosque, attending the official reopening. - KUNA
