ANKARA: Turkish statistical data showed yesterday that Kuwaiti citizens ranked seventh amongst foreigners buying real estate in Turkey last November, as they bought 185 properties. Iranians led the list with 1,406 properties, while Iraqis came second with 1,075 properties, then Russians with 836, Germans with 322, Kazakhstanis with 278 and Afghans with 231 properties, according to data issued by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
The data indicated that during last November, the total number of real estate sales to foreigners in Turkey reached 7,363 properties, recording an increase of 48.4 percent compared to November 2020.
The city of Istanbul had the highest sales in real state last November, as it sold 2,922 properties to foreigners, followed by Antalya with 917 properties, and the capital Ankara with 428 properties, said TURKSTAT. The total number of properties sold to foreigners since the beginning of this year until the end of last November reached to 50,735 properties, recording an increase of 39.4 percent compared to the same period last year. - KUNA
