The young volunteers have helped in delivering aid for Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan. They have also involved in relief operations in Somalia and Darfur, he said, narrating some of the Kuwaitis' relief activities. Abbas heads the Kuwaiti delegation taking part in the conference.
Scouting camps
Meanwhile, another Kuwaiti official said that there should be more Arab-to-Arab scouting camps to reinforce the notions of cooperation and solidarity among Arab youth.
Speaking at the conclusion of the six-day GCC-Arab scouting camp in Jordan Friday, Executive for scouting at the Public Authority for Sports and Youth Affairs (PAYS) Fadhel Ibrahim said that organizing more Arab scouting camps would develop and enhance cooperation amongst Arab scouting organizations.
The Kuwaiti official took the chance to thank Jordan for organizing the camp which saw participants exchanging their scouting expertise. The participants also visited several locations in Jordan to gather historical knowledge and information, said the official.
Regarding Kuwait's input to the camp, Ibrahim said that the delegation held an exhibition on the sideline of the event showcasing Kuwait's cultural heritage. The GCC-Arab scouting camp began on August 2 and saw participants visiting several historical locations. The camp also included several hands-on training courses for the scouts to develop their skills. - KUNA
