KUWAIT: Some 64Kuwaiti painters and sculptors are showcasing their works amid thelocally-renowned summer cultural festival, praised as the 'most important' onthe arts calendar. Al-Funoon and Ahmad Al-Adwani exhibition halls at the KuwaitCity suburb of Abdullah Al-Salem are hosting a whopping 104 works by artists ofall ages.

Commenting on theevent, National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters chief Kamel Al-Abduljalilsaid the annual event is regarded the "most important of its kind on thedomestic arts scene as it sheds light on up and coming talent." One of thepaintings on display, 'Until When' by Abdulrahman Al-Hamili, questions man'scontinuing pursuit of war.

A journey intothe calmness of nature is expressed in two works by aspiring artist, NorahAl-Hajeri. The young artist said she was thankful for the opportunity presentedto her to parade her efforts at the much-celebrated occasion. - KUNA
