Kuwait: Kuwait's drainage system can cope with water accumulations resulting from the ongoing rain falls on the country, the Public Works Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.
Ahmad Al-Saleh, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Works and the Public Authority for Roads and Land Roads, told KUNA that rain has been continuously falling since early today.
Emergency teams of the ministry and the authority are handling some water puddles in the inner districts and on the highways, he said, re-affirming that the drainage networks can absorb the water accumulations despite the ongoing downpour.
The teams will remain alerted with forecast sea high tide that may disrupt water flow into the sea, he said.
The ministry, the civil defense and other relevant authorities are coordinating for prompt response to any situation via the social media, the phone hotline 150 and the ministry WhatsApp account.
Al-Saleh said the emergency teams have been stationed in all regions to monitor any hazardous water accumulations and report for assistance if needed.
