ShareKUWAIT: On Sunday, Kuwait University announced the names of 8,457 students admitted to the first semester for the academic year 2023/2024 in the medical, scientific and humanitarian colleges, as well as 601 students for the academic year 2023/2024 in three colleges, including Engineering, Energy, Computing, Systems, Business and Entrepreneurship in Abdullah Al-Salem University. The Acting President of the University, DR Fayez Al-Dhafiri, said:” I am proud of having a new batch of Kuwaitis join our university.
They had the best education at all academic levels until they were able to enroll in various colleges in science and art disciplines.” He urged the students to work hard and persevere to be the best representatives of their university in the future and become exemplary students in various scientific fields. He expressed his happiness with this event, “which is of great importance to Kuwait University students, their parents and all university affiliates,” Al-Dhafiri said. He thanked His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Acting Minister of Education, Dr Jassim Al-Ostad, for their support and care for their students throughout their academic career.
Acting Dean of Admission and Registration at the university, Dr Rawaa Al-Jarallah, said: “All students were accepted for the first semester and no student was postponed for the second semester.” “The admission system is unified between Kuwait University and Abdullah Al-Salem University,” she said. “The minimum admission limits for scientific disciplines was 70 percent and for the literary disciplines 78 percent. Students with these percentages can apply for the second semester,” Jarallah explained.
A member of the founding council of the university, Dr Fawaz Al-Enezi, said: “Admission will be sent via email to each student who has been accepted from high school graduates, while students admitted from graduates of other educational systems (American, British and others) will be sent special appointments to them to review the Admission and Registration Department to complete the requirements and submit the original documents.” Al-Enezi explained that the minimum differential rates for admission to the College of Engineering and Energy majoring in Medical and Instrumentation Engineering amounted to 91.84 percent, while robotics and mechatronics engineering amounted to 88.08 percent, while the percentage of energy systems engineering is 92.06 percent.
“The minimum differential rates for admission to the College of Computing and Systems majoring in data science and artificial intelligence amounted to 87.16 percent, while cybersecurity engineering amounted to 92.46 percent, software engineering 88.85 percent and computer systems engineering 89.95 percent,” Al-Enezi. He pointed out that the minimum differential rates in the College of Business and Entrepreneurship in the specialization of supply chain management and logistics services amounted to 82.25 percent, while the specialization of digital marketing “literary” amounted to 83.69 percent, and “scientific” 85.39 percent, while the percentage for the specialization of entrepreneurship and innovation “literary” reached 90.58 percent and “scientific” 81.44 percent. - KUNA
