KUWAIT: Kuwait'sMinister of Public Works Dr Jenan Ramadan Boushehri signed a deal yesterdayworth nearly KD 109 million ($356 million) for infrastructure work in ablossoming southern residential area. The project is significant since it linksKuwait's Al-Mutlaa city with other adjacent areas where traffic volume canreach up to 70 percent, Boushehri, who is also Minister of State for Housing,told the press.

The deal is partof a series of similar projects that aim to prop up a national strategy forbroad development, all of which are running on schedule, the minister revealed.The project mainly entails adding more driving lanes to roads by the entranceto Al-Mutlaa city, according to the Public Authority for Roads andTransportation's Acting Director General Suha Ashkanani. It also deals with theconstruction of electrical networks, traffic signs, pedestrian bridges, inaddition to other utilities, added the official. - KUNA
