KUWAIT: Kuwait shooting teams continued its outstanding performance in foreign arenas as the trap team won the silver medal in the world championship being held in Lunato, Italy while Khalid Al-Mudhaf won the bronze medal in the same event. Italy's team won the gold while the British team took bronze. Al-Mudhaf also took the individuals bronze after hitting 33 targets in the final round, while gold went to British player Mathew John Coward-Holley and the silver went to Italy's Mauro De Filippis.
President of Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations dedicated the achievement to His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince, the government and people of Kuwait, adding that Kuwait champions will not spare an effort to give all they have to keep Kuwait's name high in the most important world events. "We are planning to get more qualifications for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and to repeat what was done previously" he said. He also said that Kuwait shooters will compete for qualification during the world championships in Qatar and Finland. Shooters Abdelrahman Al-Faihan and Mansour Al-Rashidi already qualified for the Olympics.
