KUWAIT: In recognition of their achievements, Kuwait Shooting Sport Club held an honoring ceremony for its shooters who made international and Olympic achievements in 2021, 2022 and 2023 Monday evening at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex under the patronage of President of Asian Shooting Confederation, Honorary President of Kuwait Shooting Sport Club Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.

Sheikh Salman said that the achievements made by Kuwait Shooting are the result of the care and support of the political leadership to this sport. He said the outstanding results were due to the integrated and team work by all elements at the club - coupled with the support from the Public Authority for Sport (PAS). Sheikh Salman hoped that a large number of Kuwait shooters qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Deputy Director General for Competitive Sport Affairs Bashar Abdallah lauded the club’s initiative to recognize outstanding shooters which is a good incentive. Bashar Abdallah said PAS is keen on supporting sport federation and clubs. President of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Eng Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi said the club prepared an integrated plan for its shooters of both genders to participate in the upcoming international tournaments.

He said the shooters are being honored for their achievements in the World Cup tournaments in Italy, Egypt, UAE, Morocco, Azerbaijan and the Asian tournaments that were held in Kazakhstan, Kuwait and Indonesia. Meanwhile Shooter Abdallah Al-Rashidi said the recognition of shooters who won international championships is a boost to win more championships. He thanked those who organized the ceremony.
