KUWAIT: Kuwait Shooting Sport Club held an honoring ceremony on Wednesday for the Kuwaiti winners of continental and global medals days before hosting hundreds of marksmen for a crucial event on the Asian calendar. Abdulrahman Al-Faihan, Khaled Al-Mudhaf and Talal Al-Rasheedi led the men's trap team to gold in the recent ISSF World Championships, while Mansour Al-Rasheedi clinched an individual skeet gold at the Asian Games in Jakarta.
Al-Faihan, who was also an individual World Championships bronze-medalist, has additionally qualified to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Their efforts, on behalf of Kuwait, were praised by KSSC President Duaij Al-Otaibi as he handed out the awards to the shooters at the club's HQ.KSSC have decided to sponsor Olympic finalist, Al-Faihan, on a monthly basis in recognition of his accomplishments and to spur him on to achieve great things at the largest global sports event, the sports official said. On Saturday, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex will begin hosting more than 600 men and women shooters from across the continent for the Asian Shotgun and Airgun Championships.
