KUWAIT: Kuwaiti shooter Abdelrahman Al-Faihan won first place and the Gold medal of HH the Amir Cup Shotgun Tournament being held at Umbriaverde Shooting Complex, in Todi, Italy in the trap event while the team of Abdelrahman Al-Faihan, Khalid Al-Mudhaf and Talal Al-Rashidi won third place in the same event. Sarah Al-Hawal won the women's silver medal.
The club said in a press statement that Al-Faihan's win came after beating Stephen Scott from the UK, who finished second, and Italian Marcelo Netarli who came third. In the women's competition, Ludmila, Russian, came first in place, while Italian Federica Kayosko finished third.
President of Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federations Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi said Kuwait shooters prove they were up to the task and exerted all efforts to win in the name of their beloved country Kuwait.
Al-Otaibi said such achievements are only made through the efforts by shooters with preparations and hard training, besides the sound planning coupled with the cooperation between the technical and administrative departments.
Al-Otaibi dedicated the win to HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, government and people.
Al-Otaibi also acknowledged the support of Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, Information Minister, State Minister for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri and Public Authority for sports and its Director General Dr Humoud Fulaiteh.
