KUWAIT: The Board of Directors of the West Asian Diving Federation formed on Friday its seven permanent committees, where Kuwait won the chairmanship of three of them, namely the International Relations committee, Legal Committee and Gender Equality Committee for the next four years. The results of the committees resulted in the recommendation of the representatives of Kuwait, namely Salam Al-Rajeeb to chair the Committee (International Relations), Dr. Muhammad Al-Jabr (Legal Committee) and Hind Al-Nahedh (Gender Equality).

The President of the West Asian Diving Federation, Talal Al-Sarhan, said: “after the completion of the formation of the permanent committees, the Federation will work on preparing the time plan for the upcoming benefits.” Al-Sarhan stressed that the main goal of the federation in the next stage is to introduce diving in the next 20 Asian Games to be held in Japan, adding “the federation will work in cooperation with the Olympic Council of Asia regarding the West Asian Combined Championship.”

He pointed out that the Board of Directors of the Federation is considering many proposals submitted by the committees to study them and take appropriate decisions to raise the level of sports at the regional and international levels, in addition to considering the entry of new members to the Federation. For his part, the Chairman of the International Relations Committee of the Federation, Salam Al-Rajib, confirmed that he will work hard in cooperation with the members of the Committee to link the Federation with regional, continental and international bodies and organizations to develop sports.

Al-Rajeeb said: “diving needs the solidarity of all federations to market it and urge individuals to practice it to create a generation of athletes who elevate the sport to the highest ranks.” He added that the committee will seek to achieve the main goal of the federation, which is to introduce diving in the upcoming (Asiad) through meetings that the committee will organize with the Olympic Council of Asia and the Asian federations. - KUNA
