KUWAIT: Kuwait Sports Club has been crowned the 38th champion of the Arab Handball Championship of Champions which was founded 1976 which is under the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) by beating Al-Zamalek 31-30 in the final match held in Qatif, Saudi Arabia on August 28 2023. The team, which was founded in October 20, 1962 managed to flip the match after being behind in the first half by winning the final match 18-16.

The club has been qualified to the World Club Championship "Super Globe” which will be held in Dammam from November 7th to November 12th. The victorious team arrived today and were received by top club officials at the Kuwait International Airport. KSC is the second Kuwaiti club to be crowned with three outside championships, after Sulaibikhat who won the championships in the Arab League in 2003, Gulf League in 2006 and an Asian League in 2009.

This is the second championship to the club’s coach, Haitham Al-Rashidi, as he had previously won the Asian Championship on June 2022. He was also with the technical team that won the Gulf tournament.

The players have played excellently after winning against Madhar Saudi Club (29-28). Al-Arabi took the 5th place, while Huda Saudi was in 7th place and Al-Jazeera in 9th place by defeating Yemeni Club Al-Shu’la 30-15. Al-Tarji of Tunisia is the club with the most championships with seven titles. It is worth noting that the Kuwait Handball Association which was founded in 1966 has praised the team's participation and their achievements.
