KUWAIT: Kuwait reported 244 new coronavirus infections yesterday to take total cases to 149,017, while two virus-related deaths in the past 24 hours made the death toll rise to 926, the health ministry said. The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 3,193, with 49 of them in intensive care units, according to ministry spokesman Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad, who revealed 3,565 swab tests were conducted over the past day, taking the total to 1,235,842 tests.

The ministry had earlier reported that some 304 more people had been cured from the virus over the past day, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 144,898. Sanad urged nationals and expatriates to abide by health precautions, mainly following social distancing rules, as it is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. - KUNA
