KUWAIT: Kuwait's Ministry of Health (MoH) announced yesterday registering 589 new COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, raising the tally to 125,926. MoH spokesperson Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad said in a statement to the press that six patients passed away during the same period, putting the total number of mortalities at 779.
The ministry had announced earlier that 660 patients recovered during the past 24 hours, with the total number of recoveries reaching 116,862. On Friday, the ministry announced registering 671 new cases, six deaths and 727 recoveries.
The number of patients receiving medical care at intensive care units reached 110 as of yesterday, Dr Sanad said, adding that all confirmed infection cases that continued to receive medical care reached 8,285. The number of patients in intensive care units had stood at 108 on Friday.
Meanwhile, Dr Sanad revealed yesterday that 5,171 swab tests were conducted during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of tests taken in Kuwait to 916,525. A total of 6,221 tests were made on Friday. Dr Sanad appealed to the public to take all necessary precautions against the pandemic. - KUNA
