KUWAIT: Chairman of Kuwait Boxing Association (KBA) Mohammad Mansi Al-Enezi said Kuwait is ready for the Asian Boxing Championship which will start August 1st and will continue until the ninth. Al-Enezi, who spoke to the media committee of the tournament said work on the final preparations is ongoing, and lauded the role of the public authority for sport in removing all obstacles be it financial or administrative.
Al-Enezi said 22 countries confirmed their participation and expected the number to reach 24, as registration for the tournament will be closed at the start of next month. KBA chairman appreciated the Asian Federation in Kuwait's ability to organize the championship, and the federation is following the preparation through its executive office.
He said President of the International Boxing Federation will attend the tournament, besides the Asian Federation officials. Al-Enezi hoped the tournament comes out as planned as it is among the five top tournament, and it is the first for Kuwait after removing the suspension on its sport.
Meanwhile Kuwait National Boxing team is getting ready and is currently in training camp locally, then will leave in July to Azerbaijan for more training.
