KUWAIT: Foreign Minister and Acting Information Minister Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah headed the Kuwaiti delegation that attended the China-Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) tenth ministerial meeting, held via videoconference yesterday. The meeting dealt with the close partnership that bind the GCC countries with the People's Republic of China, frameworks for enhancing joint cooperation between them in various important areas.

The meeting also tackled future prospects in support of the common interests between the two sides, in addition to discussing the most prominent developments on the regional and international arenas, especially those related to confronting COVID-19. During the meeting, the Foreign Minister delivered a speech in which he considered this meeting an opportunity for consultation and coordination of various world issues, especially those issues related to facing the outbreak of the pandemic.

He also stressed the need to increase coordination to address the tragic situations in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Libya and Lebanon and to discuss the Palestine issue and the peace process in the Middle East. The Kuwaiti delegation to the meeting also included number of Foreign Ministry senior officials. - KUNA
