KUWAIT: Kuwait and Pakistan are celebrating 60 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, a bond that has only grown stronger with the passage of time.

Mujahid Iqbal, Managing Editor of Contemporary Japan magazine and Marketing Director at ALC International Group Company met the Ambassador of Pakistan to Kuwait Malik Muhammad Farooq. Issues of mutual interest between Pakistan and Kuwait, tourism, and diplomatic ties with the Kuwait government were discussed during the courtesy visit.

Ambassador Farooq praised the special issue on Japan and showed keen interest to publish a magazine on the 60th anniversary of Pakistan-Kuwait diplomatic relations too. Head of Chancery and Third Secretary Tehreem Ilyas also attended the meeting. The Ambassador said very soon a delegation from the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) comprising manufacturers and businessmen will visit Kuwait. "I hope Kuwaiti businesspeople and Pakistanis along with their sponsors will visit too," he said.

The delegation includes Sialkot sports goods manufacturers, including FIFA World Cup football manufacturers, leather goods manufacturers, surgical instrument manufacturers, etc. In this regard, Farooq held a meeting with prominent Pakistani businessmen in Kuwait for the promotion of the exhibition by the trade delegation from Pakistan, which will be held at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It was reaffirmed that relevant businessmen in Kuwait would be engaged to ensure maximum participation in the exhibition and build links with concerned businessmen in Pakistan. The ambassador expressed his gratitude for the welcoming response by the participating community members and hoped the embassy will work in collaboration with all stakeholders to boost bilateral economic ties.
