KUWAIT: Chairman of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Ali Al-Ghanem yesterday stressed the importance of boosting Kuwaiti-Australian cooperation in the food security sector. Ghanem said during the reception of a visiting Australian parliamentary delegation headed by Maria Vamvakinou, accompanied by Australian Ambassador to Kuwait Jonathan Gilbert, that this visit aims to strengthen commercial ties between the two countries and to discuss common issues.
Meanwhile, Vamvakinou said that the purpose of this visit is to promote bilateral ties between Kuwait and Australia, and to look into available investment opportunities in Kuwait. Vamvakinou also invited KCCI to visit Australia to find similar opportunities in different fields provided by the Australian Parliament that works hard to provide a good commercial environment for foreign investments. In the meantime, Ambassador Gilbert made similar remarks about commercial opportunities in Kuwait and Australia, stressing the importance of strengthening those relations between the two friendly countries.
Earlier yesterday, National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanem received the visiting Australian parliamentary delegation, and the two sides discussed ways of strengthening bilateral ties between the two parliaments, in addition to important and common matters. The meeting was attended by Foreign Affairs Committee head MP Dr Abdulkarim Al-Kandari, and MPs Ali Al-Deqbasi, Safaa Al-Hashem and Mohammad Al-Dallal. - KUNA
