Kuwait: Kuwait Medical Association (KMA) was elected as president of the World Medical Association (WMA) for 2023-2024 during the election held in the WMA conference in Berlin.
Speaking to KUNA, head of KMA Dr. Ibrahim al-Tawla said Kuwait's presidency of the WMA, as the first Arab country, shows Kuwait's medical prestigious status on the global level.
The move will help the KMA raise issues, which concern doctors in Kuwait and share Kuwaiti medical views in international forums as well as provide opportunities to come up with recommendations on global medical work, he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Masoma Al-Ali, vice president of the KMA, said this position has a double significance as it coincides with the celebration of the diamond jubilee of the establishment of the WMA.
The KMA dedicated this win to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and all Kuwaiti doctors.
