BEIRUT: Kuwaiti Al-Najat Charity has distributed aid to 3,500 Syrian refugees in Lebanon as part of a humanitarian and relief campaign to alleviate their suffering during the winter. The aid, which was handed out to Syrian refugees at Ersal refugee camp in northeastern Lebanon, includes food parcels, heating fuel and shelters, Al-Najat Director of Resources and Campaigns Omar Al-Shaqra told KUNA.

Kuwait is working to improve the living conditions of thousands of refugees in face of cold weather and shortage of foodstuff, he said. Kuwaiti charities and humanitarian organizations are keen on offering relief aid to Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as Lebanese families in need through the year. However, they increase their relief efforts during the winter season due to tough weather conditions in Lebanon.
